monograph
Respected colleagues,
Due to a large number of applications, the huge amount of material that we need to process and the constant interest, we have decided to open links, both for new applications and for editing the sent material. The Biennale of Scene Design opens in a few days, and the Monograph project proved to be too elaborate for us to realize in such a short time period. We ask for your patience and support, and we invite you to use this additional time to complement the materials and thus facilitate our work.
New applications are filled out using the form found at this link. After completing the form, you will receive a message to your email address with a link to upload visual attachments of your submitted work. It is possible to register 15 works.
To the colleagues who have previously registered, if you want to attach additional materials to your folders, please contact us via the email address monografija@bisd.rs, after which you will receive new links and an access code for editing.

About the Monograph
Monograph – Scene Design in the Region 2006-2021
The re-established Biennale is based on the ideas and values promoted at the Biennale of Scene Design from 1997-2006. Each of the six manifestations was accompanied by a catalogue following the production of those years.
The monograph aims to illustrate the cross-section of the scene, authors, and productions, from the last Biennale to the present day. The monograph will present works in the following categories (see categories for which a work can be submitted):
The Biennale invites authors from the countries of former Yugoslavia to participate in this project and help in setting the monograph as a true presentation of what has comprised the scene in the last fifteen years.
Regional open call for the Monograph
One of the main goals of the Biennale of Scene Design is to create a platform that will facilitate meetings, exchanges, collaborations, and evaluation of artists from the former Yugoslavia. In order to bridge the gap from the last Biennale until today, and in some way make a cross-section of the situation, we are announcing a regional open call for the Monograph Scene Design in the Region 2006-2021, which will attempt to show who are the participants on our scene.
The purpose of the open call is to collect works that will be selected in different categories of scene design showing the diversity of the scene in the last 15 years.
Application
The application implies a completed form. After that, candidates will receive a email with information and a link to submit attachments. The works in the Monograph will be presented through photographs and sketches from the process (drawing, collage, 3D model). All attachments should be in a format suitable for printing (.jpg, .pdf, format not less than 17cm wide in 300dpi). It is desirable to include other attachments (pdf presentation, website, video material, sound, etc.) so that the monograph editors have a better insight into the project as a whole. The application should contain: a brief description of the project both in native language and English with a list of all authors, year of performance, information about the producer and photographs (with the names of the authors).
The author assumes responsibility for regulating the copyright for the use of all submitted materials.
An International Editorial Board will conduct the selection of works. The list of participants and selected works will be published on July 1st, 2022.
Eligibility
The Monograph open call is public.
Professionals in the field of scene design, born in the space of former Yugoslavia, have the right to participate. One author can submit a maximum of 15 works.
Categories for submitting works
Promotion
The monograph will be promoted at the Biennale in September 2022, in the program of Kaleidoscope of Culture – Novi Sad European Capital of Culture.
