ANDREJ MIRČEV
Andrej Mirčev (Osijek, 1979) studied philosophy, history and theater in Belgrade and Zagreb. He received his Ph.D. from the InterArt studio (Freie Universität Berlin), under Prof. Erika Fischer-Lichte, researching intermedial shaping of space in theater, dance and fine arts. In parallel with his scientific career, Mirčev has created artistic discourse projects in the expanded field of visual arts and is a dance dramaturge. From 2015 and 2018 he was part of the Aktionskunst jenseits des Eisernen Vorhangs project, which was financed by the German Research Foundation (DFG). The project was finalized in 2018 with the Left Performance Histories exhibition, at the NGbK gallery in Berlin, and a namesake publication. As a docent he has taught at the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design, the Institute of Theater Studies in Berlin, and the Institute for Applied Theater Studies in Giessen. He is currently a visiting professor at the Department of Stage Design at the Berlin University of the Arts.
