Anja Pirnat has Master’s Degrees in Sociology of Culture and in History. She works in theater as a producer, dramaturg, set designer and mentor / theatre pedagogue, both on the independent stage and in institutional theatres. Since 2017 she has been a member of the Artistic Council of the Glej Theater.

Since 2018 she has been actively involved in the Generation to Generation programme at Glej Theatre as a mentor to youngsters, both in international projects supported by the Creative Europe, Erasmus + programmes and by local communities.

As a project manager and producer of the Glej Theater she has collaborated in recent years with many promising and up-and-coming theatre creators/directors (Jaša Koceli, Maša Pelko, Luka Marcen, Tatjana Peršuh, Tjaša Črnigoj, Nina Šorak, Marko Čeh, etc.), whose performances have been part of Maribor Theatre Festival, The Week of Slovenian Drama and Zlata paličica platform.

In 2013 she took over the coordination of Transferzala, a theatre, performance and dance subscription that unites six independent stages in Ljubljana (Glej Theater, Mini Teater, Španski borci – Culture Centre, Dance Theatre Ljubljana and Old Power Station/Bunker Ljubljana, Vodnik Homestead Šiška). In 2020 she also overtook the coordination of Tovariški abonma for pedagogs, the subscription of six independent stages and SLOGI-The Theatre museum. She was an assistant of dramaturgy for Hinkemann (directed by Marko Čeh; SNT Drama Ljubljana) and Liliom (directed by Selma Spahić; SNT Drama Ljubljana), and a dramaturg for La justice or Tiring Balance (directed by Juš A. Zidar; AGRFT UL and SNT Drama Maribor), The Seamstress and the Scissors (directed by Tatjana Peršuh, Maribor Puppet Theater), Not Dead Enough / Western (directed by Maša Pelko and Luka Marcen, Glej Theater).
