SVETLANA CVIJANOVIĆ

Lana Cvijanović (Belgrade, 1969), graduated in 1986 from the University of Arts in Belgrade, Faculty of Applied Arts, Department of Costume Design, Atelier for Stage Costume, under Prof. Milanka Berberović. She has been a member of The Applied Artists and Designers Association of Serbia (ULUPUDS) since 1986. As an independent artist (1986–2009), she created costumes for numerous theater productions on the Yugoslav and Serbian scene, collaborating with prominent directors (Paolo Mađeli, Dejan Mijač, Slobodan Unkovski, Eduard Miler, Haris Pašović, Dino Mustafić, Egon Savin, Nikita Milivojević, Jagoš Marković, Gorčin Stojanović, Aleksandar Popovski, Ana Đorđević, Marko Manojlović, Kokan Mladenović, etc.).

She has taught the Costume Design module at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, Department of Costume Design, since 2009.

Her work had included creating costumes for more than 150 theater productions and a large number of advertisement and music videos. She has exhibited her works in collective exhibitions locally and abroad, and they have also been included in monographs of the leading theaters (Yugoslav Drama Theater, Atelje 212, Belgrade, Drama Theater, Opera & Theater Madlenianum, etc.)

She has won numerous national and international awards for costume: the Sterija Award for best costume (2006, 2009, 2014); the ARDALION Award for best costume at the Yugoslav Theater Festival Užice (2002, 2014, 2021); the Annual Award of the Yugoslav Drama Theater for Costume and Special Artistic Contribution (1990, 1994, 2005, 2009, 2014, 2017); Days of Comedy Festival Jagodina, Award for Best Costume (2006); the ULUPUDS Diploma for Best Costume at the 51st Sterijino Pozorje (2006); the ULUPUDS Plaque for Creative Results in 2007; the Veljko Maričić Award for Best Costume at the International Small Scene Theater Festival Rijeka (2003); the Gold Medal at the 9th International Triennale of Theater Scenography and Costume, Sterijino Pozorje (1990); the Award for Most Creative Costume at the Yugoslav Theater Festival MES Sarajevo (1988).

She lives and works in Belgrade.
